Thanks to all participating sponsors, restaurants, and of course consumers who donated generously a $1 for tap water on Earth Day. Visit us again as we will post total funds raised soon.
Connecticut Residents can donate a dollar for tap water at a favorite restaurant on Earth Day, April 22nd to help others in need.
Tap 4 Water is a charitable promotion designed to enhance Water 4 Water, a grassroots fundraising program developed by Glastonbury teacher Katherine Grabowski Clark, to provide community water pumps for African villages lacking clean water supplies.
Under the 5th grade program, which now operates in all of Glastonbury’s public elementary schools, students sell bottled water to raise money to buy
PlayPumps. PlayPumps are devices that African children spin around on and ride; as they play, clean water is pumped from underground sources to the surface, providing safe drinking water for local residents. Hartford Magazine, AllGreen Magazine and AllGreen.com will team up with The Connecticut Restaurant Association and RestaurantsCT.com, along with dozens of participating restaurants and supporting media, to encourage residents to celebrate Earth Day by taking part in this life-saving campaign.
On April 22, visit a participating restaurant and donate $1 for a glass of tap water. Proceeds will go to Water 4 Water to assist in the purchase of PlayPumps. Your small donation will help permanently transform the lives of thousands of men, women and children by providing clean, safe sources of water.
